Film 43 of 60: The Mummy (1999?)

It's just a book. No harm ever came from reading a book. The first of the Mummy trilogy finds our beloved Rick in prison and Evelyn working at the museum in Cairo. Evelyn's brother Jonathan finds a map to the City of the Dead. Well, that can never be good! One thing leads to another and the Mummy ends up awake and ready to raise his dead girlfriend from the dead and rule the Earth. This is a great adventure, especially if you're looking for a light hearted fun adventure film. Don't take it too seriously.
