Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
I am glad that I chose this title as my February My Year of Reading Dangerously challenge book. That was a whole lot of words! I'm on page 167/973 and hope to read more today. I can't read when it get loud, but until then, its free game. :-}

Serenity
I watched Firefly and Serenity over my very long weekend and must say that I certainly love both. Summer Glau is now the reason that I watch Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles, she's certainly more interesting as Cameron than Sarah Connor.
I like the advanced special affects in the movie, of course, tv shows don't have the budget for that sort of thing!

Across the Universe
I absolutely loved this movie. The lead, Jim Sturgess (who played Jude) was absolutely wonderful. This movie is a lot like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in that it had no real plot, but was madly entertaining. I'd love to have the soundtrack. I'm not so much a Beatles fan, but I love their music. Odd, isn't it?
Venetian Betrayal by Steve Berry
Another book in his series featuring bookseller Malone.
Venice is my favorite city in the entire world, and it was nice to read a book from a series that I love that also has scenes in my favorite city.
His books are always interesting, and this one was no disappointment.

No love for the fat girl
So, I just read a blog that mentioned Mississippi's legislation HB 282? Oh my word!
In case you don't know, it would prohibit restaurants from serving obese people. Don't they know who keeps them in business? While I'm very much a fan of the less is more policy on government, this is so big brother, I didn't even believe it at first and had to look it up. How crazy to tell someone that they are too fat to eat in your restaurant.
As if fat people don't feel enough bias.
Good job to the International Size Acceptance Alliance for getting this bill killed!
