Well, not that anyone actually reads this, but here is my post on the Da Vinci Code.
It was long and sort of boring. Especially if you had read the book.
The actors were okay, though it was very odd to see Paul Bettany (Silas) abuse himself (literally, not in a naughty way).
As always, it was nice to see Ian McKellan though the role did not quite use him to his full potential, but what role ever does? I enjoyed him much more as Magneto.
I will admit that I almost fell asleep, my dad fell slightly asleep and Josh slept through all that he was home for.
I'm glad that I saw it, but also glad that I didn't even pay to rent it, much less pay to see it in the theatre.

Before Women had Wings by Connie may Fowler
The storm clouds that had been building all day circled our grove and nameless lake as if they were jewels n a heavenlynecklace.

Weeding
Weeding is an interesting thing. Do we keep items that we love because we don't want them to go away, or are we more likely to weed them because we may be able to take them home for good.
Interesting.
Interesting.
Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night
This is the weekend of Bonfire night. Remember remember the 5th of November. We're actually going to a bonfire on the 4th, but hey, whose counting when you get to have a big fire? They're going to burn an effigy of Guy Fawkes. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I wonder what they think of the terrorist plan to blow up parliament.
While I think that it is good to question authority, they were a bit out of line trying to blow up parliament.
Speaking of Guy Fawkes, I highly recommend V for Vendetta. Tis a very interesting film. They bring up some interesting ideas about fear.
Remember, remember the fifth of November
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, twas his intent
To blow up king and parliament.
Three score barrels were laid below
To prove old England's overthrow.
By God's mercy he was catched
With a dark lantern and lighted match.
Holler boys, holler boys, let the bells ring
Holler boys, holler boys, God save the King.

Multiple Authors
Sometimes I look at a book that is by multiple authors and wonder just how much that other author really contributes. There are times when having two authors works well as with Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child, but there are now books that seem to be from a major author with someone else. I wonder how much the major author really contributed.
For example: Judge & Jury by James Patterson and Andrew Gross. I wonder how much James Patterson really wrote. I'm sure that sometimes lesser known authors are taken under the wing of a widely known author to give them some exposure and then the lesser known author publishes their own books and is recognized for having written with the major author.
Hm.

Happy Bunny
I personally did not care for Happy Bunny. Until I saw the article in Publisher's Weekly.
It is very relevant to our time that even happy bunny is anti drug and alcohol. I printed out a copy of the below link to give to my parent's who run a youth centre.
Happy Bunny Pictures
I think they'd make great bookmarks.

Books
I have decided to actually read books. I know, I know, being a librarian of sorts, I should be reading books daily! But alas, my pursuits are more in the technology end of the library and I end up playing with computers all day. I know, Poor me. :-}
The problem with books is that I get bored so easily. I can watch movies for hours but am very picky when it comes to books.
So, I'm trying again. Hopefully some deep love of books (reading even, not just owning) will re-emmerge.

Bad Day
I have that song stuck in my head.
Where is the moment when you need it the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
Tell me your blue sky's fade to grey
Tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on
You're standin' in line just to hit a new low
You're fakin' a smile with the coffee to go
Tell me your life's been way off line
You're fallin' to pieces every time
And I don't need no carryin' on
'Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie
You work on a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day, the camera don't lie
You're comin' back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day... you had a bad day
Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on
You had a bad day, you're takin' one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie
You work on a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day, the camera don't lie
You're comin' back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day...(mmm... holiday)
Sometimes the system goes on the blink and the whole thing it turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know that you could be well all that strong
And I'm not wrong... (Yeahh!!)
So where is the passion when you need it the most
(oh, when you're down)
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
'Cause you had a bad day, you're takin' one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie
You work on a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day, you see what you like
And how does it feel, one more time,
You had a bad day... you had a bad day
(ahh yeahh!!)
You had a bad day 3x
(faded)
