Hate Me by Blue October
They crawl in like a cockroach leaving babies in my bed
Dropping little reels of tape to remind me that I’m alone
Playing movies in my head that make a porno feel like home
There's a burning in my pride, a nervous bleeding in my brain
An ounce of peace is all I want for you. Will you never call again?
And will you never say that you love me just to put it in my face?
And will you never try to reach me?
It is I that wanted space
Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things I didn't do for you
Hate me in ways
Yeah ways hard to swallow
Hate me so you can finally see what’s good for you
I’m sober now for 3 whole months it’s one accomplishment that you helped me with
The one thing that always tore us apart is the one thing I won’t touch again
In a sick way I want to thank you for holding my head up late at night
While I was busy waging wars on myself, you were trying to stop the fight
You never doubted my warped opinions on things like suicidal hate
You made me compliment myself when it was way too hard to take
So I’ll drive so *ing far away that I never cross your mind
And do whatever it takes in your heart to leave me behind
Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things I didn’t do for you
Hate me in ways
Yeah ways hard to swallow
Hate me so you can finally see what’s good for you
And with a sad heart I say bye to you and wave
Kicking shadows on the street for every mistake that I had made
And like a baby boy I never was a man
Until I saw your blue eyes cry and I held your face in my hand
And then I fell down yelling “Make it go away!”
Just make a smile come back and shine just like it used to be
And then she whispered “How can you do this to me?”
Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things I didn’t do for you
Hate me in ways
Yeah ways hard to swallow
Hate me so you can finally see what’s good for you
For you
For you
For you

Christmas
I actually had a wonderful Christmas. It was not overly stressful, no one fought, everyone got along really well. It was very nice.
Dad spent all day morning (or so it seemed to me) yummy yummy things that we ate throughout the day, then some family came over and we ate and opened presents. We played games for most of the afternoon then went to dinner with Josh's family and opened presents at his house.
We also watched a semi-biographical DVD about Arnold Schwarzenegger, it was really about the Mr. Olympia contest but included a lot of information about him. It was interesting.

13 of the best Christmas movies ever (in my opinion of course)
13. Santa Claus is coming' to town- the claymation version of the origins of Santa Claus is just wonderful.
12. Its a very merry Muppet Christmas Movie- So cute with Piggy trapped in the snow and Kermit meeting the Fraggles. And its quite random with the "Christmas Turkey" hiding from the Swedish Chef and eventually thinking of Big Bird as the big gobbler gobbler.
11. The Santa Clause, 1 & 2 and hopefully 3 as soon as I see them.
10. Santa Claus the Movie- with Dudley Moore. Its such a strange movie!
9. Charlie Brown Christmas- his poor little Christmas tree.
8. Christmas Eve on Sesame Street- A nice movie
7. Year without a Santa Claus- I'm Mr. Snow Miser, I'm Mr. Snow...
6. All I want for Christmas- with Ethan Randal (later known as Ethan Embry). Its a very cute movie.
5. Muppet's Christmas Carol- Somewhat creepy with the singing Marley & Marley brothers, a freaky ghost of Christmas past and even jelly beans...hm
4. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer- they classic claymation version of course.
3. Meet me in St. Louis- Judy Garland at her absolute best singing about the boy next door. Though it takes place in more than just Christmas and lets face it, I wasn't thrilled by the boy next door's decision to stop going to college so they could get married, it is a sweet movie.
2. White Christmas- what is better than Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby, Vera Ellen and Rosemary Clooney?
1. Christmas in Connecticut-the Barbra Stanwyk version is just so sweet. Yes, she lies and the whole thing starts out with deception, but some of the scenes are incredibly romantic.

Gross Point Blank
I love that movie. How do you get better than John Cusack (actually playing someone a couple of years older than I am) and Minnie Driver in the same movie? They are both so cute! I love that he is an unhappy hitman looking for meaning or even just something interesting in his life.
My ten year high school reunion is coming up in a couple of years. I don't plan to go and I think the scenes from his reunion made me feel a little bit better about that.

Slaughter-House-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
It was an interesting book. Very sad. Already being anti-war, it was another look at the sad results of power struggles. I'm already sad when I hear that someone I know has signed up for the military, etc. I know that its important, but its still sad.

Slaughter-House-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
"And Lot's wife, of course, was told not to look back where al those people and their homes had been. But she did look back, and I love her for that, because it was so human."

"...when a person dies he only appears to die. He is still very much alive in the past, so it is silly for people to cry at his funeral. All moments, past, present, and future, always have existed, always will exist...It is just an illusion we have here on Earth that one moment follows another one, like beads on a string, and that once a moment is gone it is gone forever."

Death on the Nile by Agathat Christie
I love this book. I love the movie with Peter Ustinov and David Niven and the book was even better. They did combine some characters in the movie and gave everyone motives, but it was still a great movie.

Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris
A very good book. If you like books about cannibalism, World War II, Paris and unrepentant murderers. Which, of course, I do. :-}
It was interesting to hear about his early childhood, but the book leaved enough unwritten that I'm sure a sequel will be produced as soon as the movie for this one is finished.

Edison Force
It was odd to see Justin Timberlake in the same movie as LL Cool J, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. I dare say, he did not quite fit.
Josh found the movie quite boring, but I thought it was okay other than Justin Timberlake, who didn't do an awful job but not spectacular either.

Accepted

A very unrealistic movie, but it was okay. I enjoyed Justin Long's performance, but not his character. He seemed very fake, but that's what it was about. Doesn't he look an awful lot like the guy in the apple computer commercials?
Monster House

A very cute movie. The main chubby boy reminded me a lot of Jerry O'Connell in Goonies. While its not a deep movie by any standards, it is not meant to be. But it is fun.

Santa Cruise by Mary and Carol Higgins Clark

Once again, Nora and Regan as well as MHC's Alvirah are brought together as they enjoy the maiden voyage of the Royal Mermaid.
A very fun short mystery.
Recommended for: Fans of Mary Higgins Clark and/or Carol Higgins Clark
Eifelheim by Michael Flynn
I tried. Really, I did. But I could not get through this tale of aliens in the dark ages and time travel in the present. I'm sure it got much more interesting after page 157, but I was bored and had to let it go.
Sorry.
Love, Lies and Liquor, An Agatha Raisin Mystery by MC Beaton

A fun book in the Agatha Raisin series that find our Agatha Raisin feeling much more independent. Good for her! It also finds her...confirmed bachelor ex-husband feeling a bit put out by Aggie's lack of apparent interest in him.
James gets tired of Aggie ignoring him and decides to take her on holiday to a small town on the coast that he has fond memories of visiting as a child. Well, of course things have changed and wouldn't you know that someone gets murdered and Agatha must solve the crime or maybe end up being the next victim.
Not recommended for: my mum, she thought it was a bit crass, or people who are bothered by a bit of crass humor or bad attitudes.
Recommended for: those who love mysteries that take place in England such as the Aunt Dimity series. Those who like mysteries starring 50ish women.
The Interpretation of Muder by Jed Rubenfeld

I was somewhat suprised by this book. It is not for the person who is sensitive to matters concerning alternative sexual practices (S&M, etc). It was very interesting to learn more about New York city in 1909 as well as some of the people who lived there. It is definetely fictional but many of the events and people are based on actual people.
Set around Freud's only visit to America in 1909, this finds a young friend of his (and psychoanalysist) caught up in a murder investigation and caught up with a young girl. There are many twists and the book will keep you guessing.
I read listened to the audio book read by Kirby Heyborne who did a very nice job not only with the male voices, but with the female voices.
I did enjoy most of it, though some made me slightly uncomfortable, but I think that maybe that is what the author intended.
Recommended for: those who are curious about Freud, not squeamish
